Dharamshala: - Members of the U.S. House of Representatives have expressed strong concern over human rights violations in Tibet and said they have written to President Obama asking that the "United States take a leading role and engage actively with partner nations on measures that could bring near-term improvements in the human rights situation in Tibet."

Dharamshala: Four Tibetan writers are among 12 authors, journalists, and activists from China to win the prestigious Hellman/Hammett award for 2012. A total of 41 writers from 19 countries received Hellman/Hammett grants this year.

Dharamshala: On December 10th, Members of Students for a Free Tibet (SFT), India delivered more than 50 video messages to the Prime Minister of India urging him to participate in a multilateral action for Tibet with other world leaders. Numerous individuals in various professions expressed their solidarity with Tibet through these videos.

Dharamshala: On behalf of the entire Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dr. Lobsang Sangay, political leader of the Tibetan government in exile, expressed congratulations to Shinzo Abe, newly elected Liberal Democratic Party Prime Minister of Japan. Dr. Sangay had previously met with Abe on four separate occasions in April 2012.
