Bike Rally for Tibet Calls on China to end Cultural Genocide in Tibet

New York – Tibetan activists from the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey, began their ‘Bike Rally for Tibet’ in New York yesterday, to protest against the Chinese government for the ongoing cultural oppression in Tibet, the inhumane atrocities committed in Tibet. They call on China to end the cultural genocide in Tibet.

Tibetan activists from the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) of New York and New Jersey (NYNJ) have been protesting against the Chinese government on the 10th of every month since August, 2024. This time, they organised a bike rally to raise awareness of the Tibet issue and to express their solidarity with the Tibetan people inside Tibet, as well as an end to the cultural genocide perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Tibet.

Around 15 Tibetan activists began their Bike Rally for Tibet from Diversity Plaza , Jackson Heights to United Nations Headquarters, and then to Chinese Consulate, in New York, on October 10, 2024.

Through their Bike Rally for Tibet, they demand following demands to Chinese Communist Party and International community:

- Immediate Stop to Cultural Genocide: End the ongoing cultural oppression in Tibet. 
- Hold the CCP Accountable: Urge the international community to take action against the inhumane atrocities in Tibet.
- Protect Tibetan Children: Stop the forced separation of Tibetan children from their families by sending them to Chinese boarding schools.
- Label the CP a Global threat: Recognize the CCP as significant threat to global peace and stability.
- Release Political Prisoners: Advocate for the immediate release of all Tibetan political prisoners including 11the Panchen Lama.
-Hold dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetan government representatives to resolve the Tibet issue urgently without pre-condition.
