sikyong-tibet-2013Patna: - The political leader (Sikyong) of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr. Lobsang Sangay met Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar at Patna during the inauguration of the International Buddhist Sangha Conference by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Buddha Smriti Park, Patna, Bihar on 5 January 2013.

According to the Central Tibetan Administration, 'Tibet Net', Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay was accompanied by Kalon Pema Chhinjor of the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration.

Sikyong Dr. Sangay thanked Shri Nitish Kumar for his notable contributions towards developing the state infrastructure to promote Bihar as a major Buddhist pilgrimage destination.

Along the sidelines of the International Buddhist Sangha Conference, Sikyong Dr Sangay met Shri. Sushil Kumar Modi, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar; Dr. (Prof.) Sukhda Pandey, Cabinet Minister for Arts, Culture & Youth Affairs; Shri. Shyam Rajak, Cabinet Minister for Food and Civil Supplies; Shri. Sunil Kumar 'Pintu', Cabinet Mininster for Tourism, Government of Bihar.

While in Patna, Sikyong also paid courtesy calls to Rev. Khin Min Da Thar Mi Sayadan of Myanmar, Ven. Phraphrommethee, Member of Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand, Ven. Udugama Saddharma Keerthi Sri Dharmadas Ratanapala Buddharakkithabhidan, Sri Lanka as well as other religious heads. He expressed the best wishes on behalf of the Tibetan people to these religious heads.
