New representative appointed for New York Tibet office

ukartsang-2Dharamsala, May 23 – Kaydor Aukatsang has been appointed as the new Representative for the office of Tibet, New York.

After having served as president of the Tibetan Association of Northern California, Development Director at the Natural Capital Institute and Philanthropic Advisor with the Tides Foundation Kaydor Aukatsang is currently the advisor of Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, elected head of the Tibetan people.

According to CTA, now Kaydor has been appointed as the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for North America. He will replace Mr Lobsang Nyandak from 1 September 1 2013.

The Central Tibetan administration also announced the reshuffle of two European Representatives. Mr. Ngodup Dorjee, currently Representative for the Office of Tibet based in Brussels, Belgium will take charge from 9 August 2013 as the new Representative for the Office of Tibet in Geneva.

Likewise Mr. Tseten Samdup, now Representative for the Office in Geneva will start as Representative for the Office of Tibet in Brussels from 2 August 2013.
Further, Mr. Lhakpa Tshoko, Representative of His Holiness for Japan and East Asia will continue his position untill November 2013 instead of June 2013 in order to prepair the Dalai Lama's visit to Japan later this year.

Since 2011 the constitutional authority to appoint Representatives is delegated to the Kashag cabinet.
The offices of Tibet, currently present in 11 countries all over the world, are the official agencies of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration.
