22nd Meeting of Task Force Commences in Dharamshala

8jun20100Dharamshala: The Task Force on Sino-Tibetan Dialogue convened its 22nd meeting this morning in Dharamshala, the site of the Tibetan Government in Exile and the second home of exiled Tibetan leader Dalai Lama.

The two-day meeting was presided by Tibetan Prime Minister Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche along with Task Force members, including His Holiness's the Dalai Lama's special envoy Lodi Gyari and envoy Kelsang Gyaltsen.

The Task Force was established in 1999 in order to aid the Envoys of Tibetan delegation with Sino-Tibetan dialogue. The last meeting of the Task Force was held here on March 23rd after the conclusion of the ninth session of the XIV Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPIE), during which the TPIE unanimously reaffirmed its support for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Middle Way Policy.

Meanwhile, during the 9th around the Sino-Tibetan Dialogue hold in Beinjing From 26-31 January 2010, the representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama presented a seven-point explanatory note to the Chinese leadership to clarify their core concerns and objections on the Memorandum on Genuine Autonomy for the Tibetan People. However, although Beijing authorities rejected the note, claiming it violated the Constitution of People's Republic of China, both sides agreed to continue the talks.
