Two Tibetan students from TCV Gopalpur will receive 2024 Excellence Award

Dharamshala — Two Grade 12 Tibetan students from Tibetan Children's Village School, Gopalpur will receive the CTA Education Department's Excellence Award 2024 for their outstanding results, with 95.2% and 95% respectively, and 13 Tibetan secondary schools with an overall pass percentage of 99.69%, in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), 2024.

A total of 962 students from 13 Tibetan secondary schools in India appeared for the Class 12 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from February 5 to April 2, 2024. In Class 10, a total of 1,007 students from 23 schools in India appeared for the CBSE examinations conducted from February 15 to March 13, 2024.

The CBSE declared the results of the Class 12 and Class 10 examinations on May 13, 2024. Tibetan schools under the Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA) topped the list of 18,417 Indian schools with an overall pass percentage of 99.23% in the CBSE Class XII results. CTSA came first with 99.23%, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) came second with 98.90%, KVs came third with 98.81%, government-aided schools came fourth with 91.42% and government schools came fifth with 88.23%.

Among the 13 Tibetan secondary schools, 11 achieved a pass rate of 100% and an overall pass percentage of 99.69%. Among the 23 Tibetan schools, the overall pass percentage was 97.12%, with 13 schools achieving a 100% pass rate and an average pass percentage of 63.30%.

Kalden Tsering (girl), with 95.2%, and Rinchen Karma Tsomo, with 95%, both from the Tibetan Children's Village School, Gopalpur, received the CTA Education Department's Excellence Award in Class XII. They will receive a certificate of excellence and a laptop for their academic achievements on the official ceremony of Tibetan Democracy Day on September 2, 2024.

The top students in classes 12 of the TCV schools: at the TCV Gopalpur School, Kalden Tsering obtained 95.2%, Rinchen Karma Tsomo 95% and Pinjir Mendo (girl) 94.8%. At the TCV Selakui school, Tenzin Rangdol obtained 94.8%, Tsering Chosphel 94.6% and Sonam Zangpo 94%. At the TCV Suja school, Tenzin Chonyi Pals obtained 94%, Tenzin Lhamo 91.2% and Tenzin Dechen 86.8%.

Minister of Education Changra Tharlam Dolma of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), in her congratulatory note, extends her warmest congratulations to all concerned for their excellent academic results in the board examinations and encourages them to continue their hard work in the future.

“The commendable academic performance in the board examinations reflects the effort put in by the students and their teachers throughout the academic year, supported by their parents and school administrations,” Department of Education, CTA stated.
