Lhasa, Tibet — A large number of Tibetans in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, protested against Xi Jinping's zero-covid policy, which has turned the normal life of Tibetans into a prison.

Dharamshala, India — Chinese authorities recently sentenced six Tibetans, including writers, environmentalist, activists and former political prisoners, to between four and 14 years in prison for allegedly "inciting separatism and “endangering state security”, after they had been held in detention by Chinese police for over a year.

Some have committed suicide and many complain that rising food and internet prices are making their lives more difficult.

Dharamshala— Chinese authorities in Lhasa arrested a Tibetan man from Nagchu, central Tibet, for allegedly possessing photos of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet, on his neck and in his car, after authorities searched his car in Lhasa on August 12, 2022.

Dharamshala, India — The Chinese authorities in Thangkar Ma, Ngachu Ka, in eastern Tibet are allowing the local Tibetan people to hold one of the biggest summer festivals in the region, after banning it for nearly 20 years, in order to welcome and propagate the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) (the "20th National Congress") in the coming month, 2022.
