Dharamshala, India — Sikyong of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile offered their deepest condolences to the family members of former Indian Defence Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav, who passed away on October 10, 2022.
Department Of Security, CTA, Kalon (Minister) Gyari Dolma, the officiating Sikyong (President) of CTA, has written to the family of late Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav offering condolences of the Kashag (Cabinet). Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE), also extended his condolences on the death of former Indian Defence Minister Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav on October 10, 2022.
In a letter addressed to Akhilesh Yadav, son of the deceased, Officiating Sikyong writes, “On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people, I extend our deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved father, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji, the former Indian Defence Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.”
The letter expresses Kashag's gratitude to the late Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav for supporting the cause of Tibet and advocating the Tibet cause in the Indian Parliament. “Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was both a distinguished statesman of India and a friend of the Tibetan people. We remain eternally grateful for his support for the Tibet cause. Once again, please accept our deepest condolences and prayers.”
In a letter written to his son Shri Akhilesh Yadav, MP Lok Sabha, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, the Speaker of TPiE wrote, “I am saddened to learn the demise of your beloved father Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji, former Defense Minister, former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and the founder-patron of the Samajwadi Party.’’
“Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation had the privilege to meet your beloved father in December 2017. May I take this opportunity to express my gratitude on behalf of the Tibetan people to Shri Mulayam Ji for his unwavering concern and solidarity with the Tibetan Struggle by constantly raising the issue of Tibet in the Indian Parliament. The best way to keep him in our memory would be adhering to his great principles and values,” the Speaker added.
“On behalf of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and Tibetan People, I extend my deepest condolence to you and your family. May the Almighty bestow you the inner strength to endure this great loss and grief at this difficult time,” the Speaker concluded.
