Tibetans express their deep gratitude to US lawmakers for support for the Resolve Tibet Act

Washington DC — The Central Tibetan Administration and Tibetans around the world held events to express their gratitude to Representatives Jim McGovern and Michael McCaul, and Senators Todd Young and Jeff Markley for sponsoring the Resolve Tibet Act and to all U.S. lawmakers for supporting and passing the Act, as well as President Joe Biden for signing it into law. Sikyong Penpa Tsering expressed gratitude to US legislators in person for their support of the Resolve Tibet Act in Washington DC.

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and Tibetans in Dharamshala, Shimla, Gangtok, Shillong, Varanasi, Mainpat, Tenzingang, Herbertpur, Rabgayling, Dehradun, Bir, Puruwala, Dalhousie, Mandi, Kalimpong, Ravangla (Sikkim), Darjeeling, Bhandara, Kullu, Paonta, Sonada, Ladakh in India, and Sydney in Australia, Toronto in Canada and Washington DC in the United States, organised events to celebrate the signing of the "Promoting Resolution to Tibet-China Dispute Act (Resolve Tibet Act) to law and expressed their deep gratitude to Congressmen Jim McGovern and Michael McCaul and Senators Todd Young and Jeff Markley for sponsoring the Resolve Tibet Act, and also to all U.S. legislators for supporting and passing the Resolve Tibet Act, and President Joe Biden for signing it into law on July July 12, 2024.

Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the CTA visited Washington DC and expressed his gratitude in person to US lawmakers for their support of the Resolve Tibet Act at a gratitude event to mark the signing of “Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act” into law. The gratitude event held at the Capitol Visitor Center, Washington DC, on July 25, 2024, to honor and express gratitude to bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress, particular Congressmen Jim McGovern and Michael McCaul and Senators Todd Young and Jeff Markley for sponsoring the Resolve Tibet Act, and President Joe Biden for signing it. Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Chairman Michael McCaul, Congressman Jim McGovern, Congressman Joe Wilson and others joined the event and it was organised jointly by the Tibet Office in Washington DC and the International Campaign for Tibet.

Tibetan community gathered at Norling ground, Dekyiling on July 14, 2024, to express deep gratitude to the USA and President Joe Biden for supporting the Resolve Tibet Act 2024. The Tibetan Community in Gangtok, Sikkim, also gathered at Cholka-sum Hall, on July 16, 2924, to celebrate the signing of “Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act” into law. The gratitude event aims to thank the government and people of the United States for their ongoing support for the Tibetan cause. On same day, the Tibetan Settlement office Dege, Nangchen and BTS organised an expression of gratitude toward the US government and its President for the passing of the Tibet Resolve Act Law on July 12, 2024.

Tibetans in Herbertpur gathered at the Lakhanwala Community Hall on July 17 to celebrate the passage of the 'Resolve Tibet Act'. The community expressed their gratitude to the people and government of the United States of America for passing the Act. The newly enacted law provides a beacon of hope for Tibetans. The event was organised by the Tibetan Settlement Office, Herbertpur. The Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement Office also organised a heartfelt gratitude event on July 17, to celebrate the Resolve Tibet Act 2024.

The Rabgayling Tibetan Settlement community held a ceremony On July 17, 2024,to express gratitude to President Joe Biden for enacting the ‘Resolve Tibet Act’. They expressed their joy and sincere appreciation to President Joe Biden, members of the United States Congress, and all those who contributed to the passage of the Resolve Tibet Act on behalf of the Rabgayling Tibetans.

Tibetans in Shimla held a ceremony at the Shimla Sambhota Boarding School hall, on July 17, 2024, to celebrate the signing of “Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act” into law and they expressed their deep gratitude to bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress to passing the Resolve Tibet Ac and United States President Joe Biden for signing Act into law.

The Tibetan community of Shillong gathered at Gadhen Choeling Monastery to celebrate the enactment of the Resolve Tibet Act 2024 into US law, on 18 July 2024 and they expressed their deepest gratitutes to Congressman Jim McGovern and Michael McCaul, and Senators Todd Young and Jeff Markley for sponsoring the Resolve Tibet Act and to all U.S. lawmakers for supporting and passing the Act, as well as President Joe Biden for signing it into law.

The Phendeling Mainpat Tibetan Settlement Office, the Tibetans in Dalhousie, the Tibetan community of Pandoh Tashiling, the Kalimpong Tibetan settlement office, the Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement office in Ravangla, the Bhandara Norgyelling Tibetan Settlement community, the Tibetan Community of Kullu, Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement, and Sonada Tibetan Settlement in India held various events to celebrate the passage of the "Resolve Tibet Act" and expressed their gratitude to the bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress for passing the Resolve Tibet Act and President Joe Biden for signing the Act into law on July 12, 2024.
