Dharamshala — The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) today commemorates the 64th anniversary of Tibetan Democracy Day in Dharamshala and calls on the Chinese government to immediately end its brutal policies aimed at destroying Tibetan religion, culture and identity in Tibet.

Dharamshala — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama arrived in Dharamshala today morning, after undergoing successful knee surgery in the United States and spending two months convalescing. His Holiness was warmly welcomed by Tibetans, Indians and well-wishers who lined the streets from the airport to his residence at Mcleod Ganji. People wore their best robes and held khata (white scarves), flowers and incense as they greeted His Holiness with joyful smiles.

Dharamshala — The Tibetan Writers Abroad PEN Centre celebrated its 25th anniversary in Dharamshala and the centre presented a literary award to Kyabje Kirti Rinpoche for writing over 140 books, particularly in the field of literature, his books having an influence both in Tibet and in exile, his books having been banned by the Chinese government in Tibet. 

Gangtok — The 54th Executive Committee of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) concluded on Saturday in Gangtok, Sikkim, and issued a statement against the Chinese government's forced closure of schools in Tibet, including the Ragya Sherig Norbu School and schools in monasteries in Tibet. They said: "The Chinese government is violating the human rights of Tibetans and destroying the Tibetan language and culture in Tibet.”

New Delhi — During the Tibetan parliamentary delegation's visits in New Delhi, Tibetan MPs urged Indian MPs: 'Internationally, Tibet has garnered the support of many countries in the world, including the recent "Resolve Tibet Act" in the United States. We urge you to adopt a bill similar to the Resolve Tibet Act in India, affirming the right of the Tibetan people to self-determination in accordance with international law.'

Dharamshala — Chinese government is systematically eliminating Tibetan identity by arresting educated Tibetans, translating Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan textbooks into Chinese, banning the publication of Tibetan books, forcefully shutting down Tibetan schools, forced Tibetan children into Chinese boarding schools. Therefore, Tibetans both inside Tibet and in exile are extremely worried by China's Sinicisation policy in Tibet, and 100 educated Tibetans in exile sent an appeal to the UN and urge it to call on China to end the forced closure of Tibetan schools.
