Dharamshala — President of the Central Tibetan Administration, Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, arrived in Leh, Ladakh on July 3rd.
He was welcomed at Kushok Bakula airport by the Chief Representative Officer of the north zone, the Chief Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, and many other representatives of Tibetan governmental and non-governmental organizations.
The Ladakh community invited him to celebrate the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on July 6th. “It is my blessing to attend His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 82nd birthday along with people of Ladakh,” President Dr Sangay said upon his arrival.
The President will also be visiting Pangong Lake, a body of water that marks the border to Tibet. He commented that he will look towards Tibet and pray for Tibet's freedom.
He is expected to leave for Delhi on July 8 for important official meetings until July 11, when he will return to Dharamshala.
