Dharamshala, India — The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the AISSCE 2021 results online through its official website on July 30, 2021 and Students from Tibetan schools passed the exam with distinction and set the highest pass rate of 99.81%.
A total of 1,062 Tibetan students from 16 Tibetan senior secondary schools registered for the 2021 AISSCE, of which 1,060 passed the exam. Two students were placed in the compartment category. Except for the two schools, rest of the 14 Tibetan schools scored 100% this year, with an average score of 78.41, 2.21% higher than last year.
Among them, there are 27 Tibetan students scored 95% and above in this exam, out of the 27 students who received Sikyong Scholarship, 21 are from THF Mussoorie, 2 from STS Mundgod, and 1 each from TCV Upper Dharamsala, TCV School Suja, TCV Gopalpur, and STS Bylakuppe.
This was a proud moment for the schools, families of the students, and the overall Tibetan community. According to the Gaden Phodrang awardees list of the year 2021, from Arts Stream, Dekyi Yangzom secured 99%, Tenzin Paldon secured 98.8%, Tenzin Choenzin secured 98.6%. From Commerce Stream, Tenzin Gyaltsen secured 97%, Tenzin Tsekyi secured 95.8%, and Tenzin Dorjee Bhutia secured 95.4%. From Science stream,Tenzin Konchok Desel secured 97%, Tenzing Lacksang secured 97%, Tenzin Choezin secured 96.8%, Tenzin Paldon secured 96%.
The CBSE had introduced a different pattern in 2021 to evaluate the progress of the students due to the pandemic. On June 1, 2021, considering the wellbeing and safety of teachers and students during the second wave of COVID-19, CBSE cancelled the class 12 board examination. The results were released based on a different method without conducting the exams.
The Board set up an Expert Committee to discuss and design a well-defined assessment criterium. The 30:30:40 format for the tabulation of marks was introduced. 30 % marks of class 10 based on the average theory component of best three performing subjects out of five main subjects. 30 % marks of class 11 based on the theory component. 40 % marks of class 12 based on unit test/mid-term test/pre-board exam.
CTA’s Department of Education congratulated all the class 12 students and teachers for the efforts they took successfully to achieve a good score amidst all the difficulties brought by the pandemic.
