Spiritual leader of Tibet departs for extended trip to South India

His Holiness South India tripDharamshala  — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama left December 8th for an extended trip to South India, where he will visit from the 14th to the 27th.

His Holiness is scheduled to have a short engagement in Delhi from December 9th to the 11th, which includesa  public talk at Tibetan Festival organised by Tibet House and Men-Tsee-Khang and a talk organized by Tushita on Compassion and Secular Ethics.

After arriving in South India, His Holiness will grace the inauguration of a new academic library block at the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Studies in Bengaluru.

His Holiness will also participate in a conference with Tibetan monastic scholars and renowned scientists on ‘Consciousness and origins of life,’ a celebration of the 600th founding anniversary of Drepung Monastery, and finally will preside over the historic Geshema award ceremony.

Upon returning to Delhi, the Tibetan spiritual leader will give a teaching to a Russians audience on December 27th before traveling to Bodh Gaya to bless devotees with the Kalachakra empowerment.
