New Delhi, India — “We are social animals who biologically need karuna or compassion and as long as we have compassion, we’ll be physically and mentally fit," His Holiness the Dalai Lama said when speaking to a group of students and teachers from South Asian countries who have been taking part in workshops about universal values and secular ethics in New Delhi, India on April 4, 2019.

Dharamshala, India — Explaining the content of these sutras and treatises can be classified into three categories: science, philosophy and religion, the spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness the Dalai Lama told a group of young Indian scholars that the Buddhist "scientific and philosophical content can be studied in an objective academic context."

Mumbai, India —"The message religions convey about love, tolerance and contentment provide a viewpoint to counter these destructive emotions," His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, adding: "India is the one country that could combine modern education with the ancient knowledge of how to recognise and tackle our afflictive emotions."
