Dharamshala: Several overseas experts on China have drawn attention to the existence of a new rising influence in the narrow, one-party realm of Chinese communist politics, referring to the emergence of the little-known Boyuan Foundation, which began in Hong Kong in October 2007 and which, by avoiding direct political opposition to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has thus far been tolerated by the Chinese regime.

Dharamshala: Described by author Eric Weiner as 'the James Bond of Tibetan Buddhism', writer/activist Matteo Pistono has written a most unusual and interesting account of Tibet with his book "In the Shadow of the Buddha: Secret Journeys, Sacred Histories and Spiritual Discovery in Tibet" written through the eyes of a stranger hiding in plain sight.

Dharamshala: The recent self-immolation of the young Tibetan monk Phuntsok and Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama's retirement announcement will probably lead to increased tension in Tibet, if the predictions of Robert Barnett, director of Modern Tibetan Studies at New York's Colombia University, prove correct.

London: - While countries such as Libya and Egypt fight to overthrow their leaders, Tibet are insisting theirs stays in power. The Dalai Lama has ruled longer than Colonel Gaddafi and Hosni Mubarak combined, yet His Holiness's dedication and compassion has left women crying in the streets and politicians pleading in parliament in the wake of his announcement of retirement.

Dharamshala: In the midway results of the ongoing "Online Opinion Poll on 2011 Kalon Tripa Primary Election", 23 percent of participants responded "Yes" and 19 percent responded "Don't Know" to the concluding question, "As a result of the entire Kalon Tripa electoral process, do you believe we, as Tibetans, are more divided now than before?"

Dharamshala: Tibet sinks further into suffering and chaos, with Chinese military incursions increasing and nothing being done by the United Nations, United States or European Union or the African and Arab worlds. And with the rise of Hu Jintao in the Chinese government, the future looks even grimmer.

Indiana, US: - The death of Tibet freedom fighter Jigme Norbu once more raises the question "Independence or Autonomy?" Jigme Norbu aspired and fought for independence, as did his honorable father, Taktser Rinpoche, the older brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
