Melbourne: It seems the Chinese people have just about had enough of the ruling communist regime, as recent comments from intellectuals and ordinary netizens show indications of the impending collapse of the government that has oppressed the Chinese people for the past sixty-one years. This year, unrest has reached new levels and emboldened citizens are standing up for their rights.

London: - Since it's formation in 1959 the Tibetan Government in Exile has been taking small aided steps towards a Westernised definition of democracy. It has even taken some momentous steps such as the creation of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission in the 1990's and the establishment of the Kalon Tripa role in the early 2000's however, these were all done under the supreme leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Dharamshala: - The sad truth today is that many people around the world are unaware of the Tibetan issue or of the plight of Tibetan refugees fleeing Chinese torture. Despite campaigns in many countries aimed at raising awareness, not enough is being done to inform people. I spoke to writer and Tibet Exile Project founder Tammy Winand this week about her experiences with the exile community in Dharamsala and the Tibetan cause, and we discussed what more could be done.

Dharamshala: The one-sided policy has robbed the Tibetans of their basis for cultural identity; causing the loss of their language in their homeland and commerce in dealings with communist authority, their culture, and now they're facing a natural resource genocide.

London: The Super Bowl, possibly one of the last places you would expect to see the Potala Palace or hear about Tibetan culture being at peril. Yet a 30 second advert by money saving website, Groupon, thrust Tibet into the living rooms of over 111 million Americans. On the face of it such a huge viewership attention on Tibet should be seen as an immense boost to the Tibetan cause. However, the controversial nature of the advert has not only received a backlash from Tibetans but from Chinese nationals also.

Dharamshala: Founded in 1996, the Center for Tibetan Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) is the only human rights organization in exile involving litigation, legal advocacy, education, and public outreach. Each year it publishes an annual report covering violations, positive trends, if any, and "significant human rights-related processes" affecting Han Chinese and Tibetans.
