Dharamsala: One Tibetan has been killed and around 35 severely wounded after Chinese security forces opened fire on demonstrators in Palyul County, Dege, eastern Tibet.

Dharamshala: New internet censorship rules imposed in Tibet this month are just another in a succession of attempts by Chinese authorities to monitor and limit the amount of information and opinions accessed by and shared between Tibetan people. All computers in the so-called Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) which are intended for use by the public must install new state-of-the-art surveillance software by the end of August.

Dharamshala: Tibet is in a state of unrest after thousands of Han Chinese migrants, including workers, investors, merchants, teachers and soldiers, have poured into a remote part of the country. According to The New York Post, Chinese leaders see development, along with an enhanced security presence, as the key to pacifying the Buddhist dominant region.

Dharamshala: Relatives of detained Tibetan religious leader Tenzin Delek Rinpoche have expressed serious concern for his health and treatment in prison and called on the international community for help. According to latest information received by The Tibet Post International, the Tibetan monk suffers from bone and heart ailments as well as high blood pressure and receives no emergency medical treatment in detention.

 

Dharamshala: Two famous Tibetan writers are currently receiving hospital treatment in Chengdu, near Eastern Tibetan, following injuries sustained during interrogation and torture by Chinese police, according to a source from inside Tibet, who wishes to remain anonymous.
