Dharamshala: - The Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration has announced the dates of the mid-term poll for one Dho-May Chithue (Member of Tibetan Parliament from Dho-May constituency).

According to the announcement, the preliminary election will be held on 17 February 2014. The final election will be held on 09 June 2014.

The mid-term poll is necessitated by the resignation of Kirti Dolkar Lhamo, a member of Tibetan Parliament from Do-Mey constituency.

Dharamshala: - Kirti Dolkar Lhamo resigned as a member of the 15th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile after serving as an member of parliament since 1991.

"In her resignation letter submitted to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament, she has cited personal reasons for resigning from her role as a member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile," the Tibetan Parliamentary secretariat said.

"She has further expressed her best wishes to the Tibetan Parliament in their future endeavours, urging them to continue their hard work and dedication to resolve the issue of Tibet for the reunification of Tibetans inside and outside Tibet," it said.

According to CTA, Dolkar Lhamo is a member of the 15th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from Dhomay Region. She was first elected to the Tibetan Parliament in 1991. Since then, she was elected as a member of the Tibetan Parliament in five consecutive elections, serving more than 20 years in the Tibetan Parliament.

Brussels: - Henri Malosse, EES President, received Dicki Chhoyang, Kalon or minister of the Central Tibetan Administration, on 26 November 2013.

Both expressed their deep concerns on violations of Human rights in the Tibet region.

They stressed the necessity of reopening the Dialogue between the Chinese government and the Tibetan people, represented by the Central Tibetan Administration.

They also appealed for the real support of the European institutions in this conflict that has lasted too long.

Ms Chhoyang also met with EESC members Anne-Marie Sigmund, Béatrice Ouin and Thomas Janson.

(Victoria, 25 November 2013) – The first of 1,000 displaced Tibetans selected to resettle in Canada will arrive in Toronto and Ottawa on Friday, November 29

"They will be greeted at both airports by private sponsors and Tibet supporters," the Project Tibet Society said.

They are part of a Government of Canada public policy that is facilitating the immigration of up to 1,000 Tibetans living in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India.

This policy followed a 2007 appeal by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Others selected in the first round will arrive in Vancouver and Victoria on December 14th and in Calgary in January.

Project Tibet Society was founded in 2011, as part of the public policy to oversee the implementation of this project.

Dharamshala: - The spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Ladakh on Monday, July 29 for a three-week stay during which he will undertake a 3-week meditational retreat at Shiwatsel Phodrang, Choglamsar, Leh, the capital of Ladakh, J&K State, India.

According to media reports, top dignitaries, including His Eminence Gaden Tripa Rizong Rinpoche, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora and chief executive councilor of Ladakh, received His Holiness on his arrival at the airport.

Thousands of local people and Tibetans came in their traditional dresses to welcome His Holiness.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Ladakh after successfully concluding nearly a month-long visit in southern Indian state of Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Dharamshala: - The spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness the Dalai Lama on July 7 has expressed his sadness over the serial bomb blasts at Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, Bihar State of India.

Terming the series of blasts at Mahabodhi temple complex in Bihar as "unfortunate", said the His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

"But we should not consider it is something a serious, I don't think," said His Holiness.

"Few individuals, some such incidents happen- it's understandable. "Of course it's very sad," His Holiness however told reporters in south India.

Eight low-intensity blasts took place early in the morning in quick succession at the 1,500-year-old Mahabodhi temple, annually visited by millions of pilgrims from all over the world. Two monks were injured in the attack.
