Dharamshala: Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs announced a committed "to further develop a positive relationship with China," after Monday's meeting between the U.S. President and Secretary of State, and Beijing's new envoy, Zhang Yesui.

Dharamshala: Human rights group Amnesty International published its annual report on the death penalty, stating that 718 people from 18 different countries were executed last year. However, the group remarked that the actual figure could potentially be much higher considering the high amount of unreported executions. Amnesty suspected that thousands of off the record executions occurred in China alone.

Paris: Reporters Without Borders has obtained a copy of a questionnaire that has been circulated within the organizations of Chinese citizens living abroad. It canvasses views on Tibet and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Presented by Beijing's Communication University, this very detailed questionnaire was in fact prepared at the behest of the government department responsible for overseas Chinese.

Dharamshala: Tibet's political and spiritual leader, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will commence his three-day visit to Slovenia's second-largest city on April 5, a week earlier than initially scheduled, said organizers of the event in Maribor on Tuesday.
