Dharamshala — Four Tibetan NGOs based in Dharamshala organised a candlelight vigil for Hungkar Dorje Rinpoche, to express their solidarity with Tibetans inside Tibet, who are not allowed to make offerings for Rinpoche's death in his monastery. The Tibetans also demanded justice for Rinpoche from Vietnam and Chinese government.
CTA condemns China over mysterious death of Tibetan religious leader Tulku Sungkar Dorje
Dharamshala — Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) held a press conference, regarding the sudden and mysterious death of Tibetan religious leader Tulku Sungkar Dorje. They condemned Chinese authorities for killing Rinpoche and it calls on the international community to condemn the death of Rinpoche and demand transparency from Chinese and Vietnam authorities regarding the circumstances of his detention and death.
Chief Justice Commissioner and two other Justice Commissioners sworn in
Dharamshala — Yeshi Wangmo was sworn in as the new Chief Justice Commissioner, and former Tibetan Parliamentarian Dawa Phunkyi and former Kalon (Minister) Labrang Phagpa Tsering were sworn in as two other Justice Commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission (TSJC).
Human rights situation in Tibet deteriorated further in 2024: TCHRD report
Dharamshala — The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy has published a report on its "2024 Annual Report on the Human Rights Situation in Tibet". The report states, "In 2024, the human rights situation in Tibet further deteriorated as Chinese authorities intensified policies of Sinicization, forced displacement, and suppression of fundamental freedoms. "

Drukpa Kagyu Tradition offers a long life prayer to His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Dharamshala — Monks and nuns from Druk Sangag Choling Monastery in Darjeeling, India, and Druk Amitabha Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal, led by Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche, offered a long life prayer to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Wednesday. His Holiness said," If you are able to take into account the practice of bodhichitta and emptiness, whatever difficulties you face, you won’t feel discouraged or despondent, your heart will be filled with joy."
46 Indian MPs firmly support the reincarnation rights of the Dalai Lama
New Delhi — 46 Members of the Indian Parliament have formally signed a joint declaration supporting the safeguarding of human rights and the unique religious, cultural, linguistic and national identity of the Tibetan people. This includes the fundamental and exclusive right of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people to choose their religious leaders in accordance with established religious and historical traditions.
