Bern — The Tibetan community in Switzerland and Liechtenstein has launched a week of peaceful rally and solidarity walk from the Swiss Federal Parliament (Bundeshaus) in Bern to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Zurich, from March 4 to 10, 2026. The aim is to raise public awareness of human rights issues in Tibet and to call the Chinese government for transparency, respect for human rights, and compliance with legal standards in Tibetan regions.

Geneva — More than 80 demonstrators, including Tibetans, members of the Suisse Romande Tibet Support Group, and Chinese Christians from The House Church and The Church of Almighty God, gathered in Geneva on the opening day of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council to draw the attention of diplomats from member states to the continued deterioration of the human rights situation in Tibet.

Dharamshala — Former Tibetan Political Prisoners and the Lhasa Boys’ Association from Switzerland offered a long life prayer to their spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Monday. The former political prisoners said,"With great hardship Your Holiness left your homeland. Yet, out of compassion you look after all sentient beings, particularly the people of Tibet. You are the sole hope of the entire Tibetan people. The disruptive forces of the Chinese Communist party have brought such adversity to the Tibetan people that they shed tears day and nights as they suffer."

Taipei — Human Rights Network for Tibet and Taiwan and Tibetan Youth Congress organised a event to commemorate the 113th Anniversary of Tibet’s Declaration of Independence, on Friday. They said, “Tibet’s struggle for independence is firmly grounded in international law, particularly the right to self-determination as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.”

Dharamshala — The Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration announces result of the Preliminary Election of Sikyong and Members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile on Friday and it states that In accordance with Article 67(4) of the Election Rules and Regulations stipulating that “If a candidate secured more than 60 per cent of the total votes in the preliminary round, the final round shall not be conducted, and the candidate shall be declared elected as Sikyong,” the Election Commission declared incumbent Sikyong Penpa Tsering elected as the Sikyong for the 17th Kashag, as he received 61.025 per cent of the total votes.

Dharamshala — The office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has confirmed that His Holiness had no connection with Epstein, in response to recent press articles and social media posts concerning the ‘Epstein files’ that attempt to link His Holiness the Dalai Lama with Jeffrey Epstein. The office stated: ''We can unequivocally confirm that His Holiness has never met Jeffrey Epstein or authorised any meeting or interaction with him by anyone on His Holiness’s behalf," the office confirmed.
