Dharamshala: Lodi Gyari RInpoche, the special envoy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, released a statement on December 10, 2009 detailing his reaction to China's actions and responses to Tibetan initiatives for China-Tibet Talks. He expressed that China's reaction to His Holiness the Dalai Lama's request for autonomy was initially positive, but that China's policies and press statements have been contradictory.

Today, a large ceremony was held at the main Tibetan temple in MCleod Ganj. The events honored Tibet's spiritual and political His Holiness the Dalai Lama's acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. Traditional Tibetan dances and songs were performed, and activists crowded the entrance, releasing many new books by Tibetan authors and petitioning for the release of political prisoners from China.

Dharamsala: Last night, December 7, 2009, over 200 Tibetans including foreigners participated in a candlelight march in McLeod Ganj. The march was in memory of a thirty-three year-old nun named Yankyi Dolma, who died in a hospital in Chengdu, SIchuan Province, China early Sunday morning.

Dharamshala: Yesterday, the National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT) organized a panel discussion at the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) Day School in McLeod Ganj on the significance of the 2011 elections  for new leader and the status of Tibetan democracy.

Bangalore: On Tuesday, the third day of the three-day event in Bangalore expressing gratitude to India for 50 years of providing refuge to Tibetans in exile, the stage was set to reflect and review the relevance of Buddha's message of universal human values in the 21st century.

Dharamsala: Yesterday evening, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Tibetan Women's Association held a discussion panel on Tibetan gender equality at the TCV day school in Mcleod Ganj. Four leading members of the exile community spent ten minutes each voicing their perspectives on women's rights both in exile and inside Tibet, and afterwards answered a series of questions posed by the audience. About 80 people attended the discussion-a mixture of women and men, Tibetans and foreigners.
