Dharamsala: The Tibetan Women’s Association organized a “Thanksgiving lunch” function on 14 August, India’s 62nd Independence Day, at the Central Tibetan Administration, in honor of the unwavering support India has demonstrated to the Tibetan people and His Holiness the Dalai Lama over the last 50 years. Around 50 Indian guests were invited, including journalists, officers and representatives from various offices and associations throughout the Kangra District.

Dharamshala: Cabinet of Central Tibetan administration and Tibetan Parliament in exile have congratulated Mr George Fernandes, a long term supporter of the Tibetan people and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, on his election to the Upper House, Rajya Sabha.

Dharamshala: Tenzin Lhudup, vice president of the Tibetan constituency in France, recently paid a visit to Dharamshala and shared with the Tibet Post his experiences and ideas about Tibetans' lifetsyle in France. Lhudup's opinions were backed by his authority as former singer and well-known business man from Paris, the French capital and one of the world's cultural epicenters, who additionally took part in the most of the political and cultural events there over the last 17 years and is working to further the development of the 700-person Tibetan community in France. He spoke about the important issues such as Tibetans' efforts to preserve the basic tenets of their identity: culture, customs, language, and religion.

Dharamshala— Recognising the unwavering valour and steadfast resolve of Tibetans residing in Tibet who fearlessly voiced their dissent against the repressive policies of the Chinese government, the members of the standing committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile paid solemn tribute yesterday to those Tibetan protesters.

Dharamshala: A crowd of 300 Tibetans and Tibetan supporters including Ms. Dolma Gyari, the deputy speaker of Tibetan Parliament in exile gathered at the main temple in Dharamshala, to pay their respect to Former Union Minister, Shri George Fernandes, Shri Ajay Singh, former Deputy Union Minister along with his wife and say thank you India for hosting the Tibetan community in exile the past 50 years.  Tibetan NGO’s Gun-Chu-Sum, Tibetan Women’s Association, Students for Free Tibet, Tibetan Youth Congress, and the National Democrat Party of Tibet, sponsored the event.

Dharamsala: His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, today, appealed to his fellow Tibetans not to harm wildlife, at an awareness event organised today in Dharamshala, India by Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and Care for the Wild International (CWI).

Dharamshala: Hundreds of Tibetans including monks and nuns living in exile in India celebrated the 25th birthday of His Holiness 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorjee with long-life prayers in Dharamshala Yesterday. Monks of Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim also celebrated his 25th Birth-day anniversary.
