Dharamshala: The Central Tibetan Admistration's (CTA) Bangalore Regional Election Officer-cum-Chief Representative was right to close voter registration on August 7, according to the Election Commission (EC) in Dharamsala, which says many regional election offices in India and western countries had different closing dates.

Dharamshala: Two Tibetans, Geluk and Wangchuk from Dege Jodha county, eastern Tibet, have been sentenced to one year each in prison on charges of refusing to sow crops, in protest against the Chinese government's policies towards Tibet and Tibetans.

Dharamshala: The 14th General Body Meeting of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) began yesterday in Dharamshala, with a crucial and forthright discussion of the future of its vice president, Dhodhup Dorjee, who was expelled earlier this year for misconduct. After five hours of discussion, the majority of the attending members voted in favour of a demand for Dorjee's resignation.

Dharamshala: 65 participants from 30 different regional chapters of the exiled Women's group from India and Nepal today have converged in Dharamshala for a two-day intensive training to organize the first-ever ‘next Tibetan Prime minister Mass Mock Election' slated for July 6, 2010.

Dharamshala: Mr. Joseph Macedo, representative of Amnesty International (AI) in France, paid a 5-day long unofficial visit on 13th June to Dharamshala, the site of Tibetan Government in Exile and second home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
