Indian MPs extend their warmest wishes to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday

New Delhi — A group of Indian MPs from all political parties and states send their warmest wishes to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the occasion of his 90th birthday. MP Shri Rajeev said: "The Most Honourable Dalai Lama's 90th birth anniversary is approaching. The people of this country and the members of the Samajwadi Party extend our heartiest congratulations to him. We pray that he will live long, so that he can continue to work for peace in the world."

On the initiative of the Tibet Advocacy Alliance-India (TAI-India), nine Indian MPs from the Samajwadi Party, the Biju Janada Dal, the Indian National Congress, and the Bharatiya Janata Party conveyed their warmest wishes to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the occasion of his 90th birthday and heartfelt messages to the Tibetan community on June 21, 2025.

These MPs including Shri Sujeet Kumar (BJP, Odisha), Shri Imran Masood (INC, Uttar Pradesh), and Shri Ganesh Singh (BJP, Madhya Pradesh), Shri Ghulam Ali Khatana (Independent), Shri Rajeev Kumar Rai (Samajwadi Party), MP from Uttar Pradesh, Shri Dharambir Singh (BJP), MP from Haryana, Shri Dr Sasmit Patra (Biju Janada Dal), MP from Odisha, Shri Deepender Singh Hooda (Indian National Congress), MP from Haryana, Shri Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj (Bharatiya Janata Party), MP from Himachal Pradesh.

Dr Sasmit Patra, Member of Parliament, Ragya Sabha, said: "I wish him good health and peace. May he continue to guide, bless and lead us. I am sure that under his leadership, his efforts to make this universe a peaceful planet will continue. My best wishes and warm greetings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his birthday.

Shri Deepender Singh Hooda, Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, said, "On this auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, I would like to congratulate my Tibetan brothers and sisters and people all over the world. I pray that His Holiness the Dalai Lama will continue to live a long life, that radiant light and happiness will continue to shine from him." "I would also like to salute him for keeping the fire burning and for all the struggles and hardships he endured for the Tibetan people and Tibetan freedom during the 65 years he spent in exile. His struggle for his country, Tibet, and for world peace will inspire future generations. I once again congratulate all my brothers and sisters on this occasion," MP Deepender Singh Hooda added.

Dr Rajee Bhardwaj, a member of the Lok Sabha, said: "I am honoured to extend my best wishes and congratulations to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his birthday. I pray for his good health. I am also honoured that His Holiness the Dalai Lama resides in my Lok Sabha constituency and I always seek his blessings."

Shri Ghulam Ali, a member of the Rajya Sabha, said: "The Honourable Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, works for the entire human race and spreads a message of peace and love among all communities of the world. I would like to congratulate him as he inches closer to 100 years in age, and I pray that he lives even longer. I also wish him every success in fulfilling the responsibilities he has assumed for Tibet. I pray to Almighty God to grant him this success."

Shri Rajeev Rai, member of the Lok Sabha, said: "Religious leader and messenger of peace, The Most Honourable Dalai Lama's 90th birth anniversary is approaching. The people of this country and the members of the Samajwadi Party extend our heartiest congratulations to him. We pray that he will live long, so that he can continue to work for peace in the world. It has been 66 years since he left Tibet, and since the time of Lohia ji, we have had an emotional attachment and connection (with him)."

"We are always with our Tibetan brothers and sisters and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We hope that peace will prevail on earth, as the Dalai Lama preaches, and that the world will support the Tibetans in their struggle against suppression. With the assurance that we are always with them in good times and in challenging times, and on behalf of Samajwadis, we wish our Tibetan brethren many good wishes on this special occasion," MP added.

Shri Dharambir Singhe, a member of the Lok Sabha, said: "The religious leader (the Dalai Lama) is from our neighbouring country. We see Tibet and India in the same light. And as his 90th birthday is upcoming, I pray the Almight to grant him with a long life. At a time when the world is going through difficult and uncertain times, it is important that great personalities like him remain with us for longer, that they continue to work on their noble pursuits, may peace and harmony prevail in the world.

Shri Sujeet Kumar, member of the Ragja Sabha, said: "His Holiness the Dalai Lama is not only the religious and spiritual leader of Tibetans, he is also widely regarded as one of the most compassionate living legends and a Nobel laureate. His Holiness the Dalai Lama teaches love, compassion and peace throughout the world. As we prepare to celebrate his 90th birthday on July 6, this year. I pray to the Almighty to grant His Holiness a very long and healthy life, so that he may continue to bless us, guide us and guide the whole world. In these times of conflict, we need the presence and blessing of His Holiness. Long live His Holiness".

Shri Imran Masood, member of the Lok Sabha, said: "On the occasion of the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday, I convey to him my best wishes from the bottom of my heart. He is a guide for us all and his work for world peace and equality for all religions will be remembered for centuries to come; no one can forget him. We pray to Allah to grant him a long life and that his blessings continue to remain with us."

Shri Ganesh Singhe, member of Lok Sabha said,"Respectable the Dalai Lama's 90 years of life have passed spectacularly. I offer him many congratulations and best wishes on his birth anniversary. He has been spreading the messages of peace across the world and continues to do so. It makes us happy to see the global honour and respect he receive and I pray that it continues. To achieve his goal, he has united the Tibetan people; I wish him the freedom he deserves.
