Dharamshala: Namkha Sonam Drakpa, a Tibetan journalist felt something slip into his pocket as he shook hands with the high Lama from his regional monastery, Tibetans in attendance also saw the exchange, and heard the Lama say to Mr. Drakpa "I have a strong belief in you," and thus a political activist for Tibet was made.

Dharamshala: TibetPost-28-April-2009-Three Tibetan monks from Shapten Monastery in Nagchu county in Tibet were arrested by Chinese authorities on 11 April, they have not been charged. Friends and relatives are unaware of the potential reasons these three were arrested, families are unable to get information about their wellbeing, and they can't provide food and necessary clothing items.

Dharamshala: TibetPost-23-April-2009-A press released by the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) yesterday said it condemns in strongest terms the framing of Tulku Phurbu Tsering Rinpoche on weapon charges related to last year's peaceful protests in Kardze (Ch: Ganzi). This is the first known case of senior Buddhist leader being tried in court with a serious charge linked to last year's demonstration.

Dharamshala: TibetPost-26-April-09-Four Tibetan monks from Lutsang monastery in Mangra district, eastern Tibet who were involved in participated to a peace march and candle light vigil in front of the Chinese local official building, sentenced to 2 years prison terms each, according to wokar online news in Tibetan language yesterday.  They are currently imprisoned in Tongkor detention center, near Siling-township, Tso-ngon region, eastern Tibet.
