Dharamshala – Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Speaker of the Parliament-in-Exile congratulated MP Arif Virani on his appointment as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and thanked him for his support for justice and the Tibetan cause. Sikyong declared: "I strongly believe that you will be able to make great contributions to strengthen justice, freedom and democracy in Canada."
Dharamshala, India — The International Tibetan Youth Forum, with the participation of 100 young Tibetans from over 16 countries, concluded the meeting on July 20, 2023 and reached a joint declaration entitled "Declaration of the International Tibetan Youth Forum", which states: "Our mission is to harness our collective power to inform the world and its leaders of the truth about Tibet, its historical independence, illegal occupation, and our people’s nonviolent struggle for freedom."

His Holiness stated that "the cause of Tibet is not only political, it is also about establishing peace in the world by training the mind on the basis of reason and developing love, compassion and the special resolve to bring benefit and happiness to all sentient beings".
Leh – His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, has written to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh to express his solidarity with those affected by the floods and landslides in India, and particularly in Himachal Pradesh, the state where His Holiness has lived for more than sixty years, and has made a donation for the relief and assistance operations.
Dharamshala – Tibetan Canadians are celebrating Tibetan Heritage Month 2023 by holding Tibetan dances and sharing Tibetan momo with the people of Ontario to honour the 88th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In July, Tibetan Heritage Month is celebrated with a series of events throughout the month.
In a recent report, Paris-based global press freedom watchdog Reporters Without Borders (RSF) warned of a new threat to press freedom in China: a new smartphone service designed to 'train' and even assess journalists for regime propaganda. The new tool has just been launched and will 'help' journalists pass the test of loyalty to Xi Jinping, the leader of China's totalitarian regime.
Dharamshala – His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet met representatives of the United States in New Delhi following of his birthday. On his way to Ladakh, His Holiness spoke to journalists about China's intentions regarding the situation in Tibet. He said: "Now China also realizes the Tibetan people, their spirit is very strong. So in order to deal with the Tibetan problem, they want to contact me. I am also ready."
