Bodhgaya, India — Turning to historical relations between Tibet and India in the 7th and 8th centuries, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said that despite close relations with China, emperors of Tibet chose to introduce Buddhism to Tibet directly from India and chose to develop a Tibetan written script modeled on the ancient Indian Devanagari alphabet.

Dharamshala, India — Top Tibetan religious leaders gathered for the 14th Tibetan Religious Conference in Dharamshala, India this week have affirmed His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s sole authority in his reincarnation and illegitimises China’s meddling in religious affairs of Tibet. The Conference convened produced the special “Dharamsala Declaration” that backing the traditional history of the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama.

Dharamshala — The Tibetan President Dr Lobsang Sangay has joined other world leaders in congratulating Boris Johnson on his resounding victory in the UK general elections. President also expressed his hope that the UK would continue raising their voices to defend human rights in Tibet.

Dharamshala, India — Amidst growing calls for an end to China's interference in the Buddhist reincarnation system of Tibet, a top U.S. diplomat met His Holiness the Dalai Lama in a bid to send a strong message to China that the role of picking a successor to the Dalai Lama does not belong to anybody else, but the Tibetan Buddhist system alone.
