Paris: Two new Tibetan websites that are hosted on servers within China have been inaccessible for the past month in most of China including Tibet. The two sites, Tibettl (http://www.tibettl.com/) and ChodMe (http://www.cmbpd.cn/index.html), specialize in Tibetan culture and Tibettl hosts the blog of popular writer Jamyang Kyi.

Dharamshala: 28-August 2009 The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) is organizing a press conference at Lhakpa Tsering Hall, Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), to display videotapes recently received from Tibet that appeal to members of the international community to act swiftly on behalf of the Tibetan people.

Dharamshala: According to a confirmed information received by the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), a Chinese court on 13 August 2009 in Golog "Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture" ("TAP") sentenced eight Tibetans to varying prison sentences.

Geneva: While making obeisance to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the supreme religious and political leader of the Tibetan people as well as an apostle of world peace, I would like to extend my affectionate greetings to the Chair of the conference, Mr. Jonathan Sisson, Dr. Tashe Thaktsang, Mr. Yan Jiaqi, distinguished guests, conference participants, media people and to my colleagues from the Central Tibetan Administration.

Taipei - stated on Thursday that his government has agreed to allow Tibet's spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama to visit the typhoon-afflicted island. In his announcement, the President of Taiwan insisted that the invitation was extended for humanitarian rather than political purposes. He said, "We have decided to (agree to) the Dalai Lama's visit to pray for the souls of the deceased and bless the survivors of the typhoon."

I extend my greetings to the Chair of this conference, the organizers, the delegates who have come from many different places, and guests. I would specially like to commend the International Fellowship of Reconciliation and the Swiss Tibetan Friendship Association for organizing this wide-ranging conference of Chinese and Tibetans.

Dharamshala: The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) have successfully concluded festival 2009 which took place in Zanka, Hungary , from the 15th until the 21st of July and was hosted by IUSY member organisation Societas - New Movement which is the associated youth organisation of the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP), currently the larger coalition partner in the Government of Hungary.
