Dharamshala: Celebrating World Environment Day, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa and the Honorable Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament launched the 4th Khoryug Conference on Environmental Protection for Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries.

Dharamshala: - Two staffs of Environment and Development Desk (EDD) of DIIR, Central Tibetan Administration, Jigme Norbu and Tempa Gyaltsen Zamlha visited north eastern Tibetan Settlements of Miao Choepheling, Tezu Dhargeling and Tenzingang on an environment awareness talk program titled ‘Current Ecological Situation in Tibet' from 20th April to 27th April 2012.

Durban, South Africa: Two members of Tibetan Women's Association Tenzin Woebum, Head of Women's Environment and Development Desk and Tenzin Dolma, Joint Secretary of TWA, who represent Tibet Third Pole are making heads turn in the two week Conference of Parties, an undertaking of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Brussels: - In 2009, Dennis Barbion and his wife Marijke Reynaert from Belgium started a shoe project for the Tibetan refugees in Dharamshala on their own initiative. That year they gave a new pair of shoes to 80 Tibetans. In 2010, this project was continued as an independent venture of the Belgian NGO "Tibetaanse-Vlaamse Vriendenkring" (Tibetan Flemish Circle of Friends). With the fundraising, the Belgian couple was able to give a new pair of good quality shoes to 426 Tibetan refugees!

Dharamshala: Every autumn since 2005 in the Dalai Lama's resident town of McLeod Ganj, visitors have been met with a curious sight. The town's street dogs all sport a white stripe from forehead to neck as if they are part of a secret gang. 

Dharamshala- The last in a series on environmental talks on the ecological environment in Tibet have made a deep impression on the Tibetan youth in North India. The series of talks, which discuss Tibet's environment, were organized by the Department of Information and International Relations and the Education Department, and also commemorates the 75th birthday anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
