Dharamshala: Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the the Dalai Lama of Tibet, is in the Netherlands for a three day visit. On Wednesday, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was in conversation with students on the TV show The College Tour by NOVA. The spiritual leader spoke to a group of 300 students, some of them are of Chinese descent. The subjects covered are the relationship between China and Tibet and criticism of young people in Tibet on his peaceful struggle.

Taipei: The Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party held a seminar at the National Taiwan University Alumni Hall, Taipei, in the Taiwanese capital yesterday, the chief guest, Mr. Dawa Tsering, director of the Religious Foundation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Taipei detailed about the "17 points agreement and the sovereignty of Tibet." 'The perspective of human rights and international law, human rights; the plight of Tibet,' was delivered by the former general secretary of the Taiwan Tibet Exchange Foundation, while the former representative in the U.S. Wu Zhao-Xie also spoke about; "64" 20th anniversary of democracy and human rights in China and Taiwan's democratic development challenges and former adviser, Ruan Ming from the Office of the President talked about national policy.

Dharamshala: Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has issued a message for the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre, His Holiness sai. "On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square students’ democracy movement, along with others who take an interest in Chinese affairs, I respectfully honour those who died expressing the popular demand for the government to be more accountable to its people.

Reykjavík: Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Iceland on Friday and on Monday he participated in a well-attended peace ceremony with the leaders of the primary religious groups in Iceland in Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavík’s landmark church.

Taipei: The U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee passed a bill on 20 May 2009 which will authorize funding for foreign affairs.The bill also allows the U.S. Secretary of State to seek the establishment of a United States Consulate General in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital and vests in the United States Embassy in Beijing establishing the department responsible for Tibetan affairs.
