Dharamsala: The "Tibetan Cultural Center Belgium" is organising a "Tibetan Culture Day" on Sunday 4th March 2012 from 12.00-17.00 o'clock in Brussels ("Le Cercle", Rue Doyen Boone nr. 6 in 1040 Brussels; metro Merode).

His Holiness' Message at Vaclav Havel's Memorial Tribute

The National Endowment for Democracy, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic, Washington, DC and the Vaclav Havel Library, Prague, Czech Republic, held a Memorial Tribute honoring the life and work of Vaclav Havel today in Washington, D.C. NED Carl Gershman read His Holiness the Dalai Lama's message (see text below) while Secretary Madeleine Albright read a statement from President Obama. The Karmapa Wishes for Peace and Harmony in the New Year

Dharamshala: In an address the 17th Karmapa, officially known as His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, made to the media regarding the end of the current year and the fast approaching new year, he stated that he wishes we live this year with mutual love and respect for one another and for the earth that is our common home.

Obituary: A Retired Civil Servant, Kunling Tenpa Soepa

Dharamshala, India: - Mr Tenpa Soepa, a retired civil servant of Tibetan government, who later underwent twenty years of untold suffering after the Chinese invasion of Tibet, passed away in New Delhi on 13 December 2011. He was 78.
