Dharamshala: Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamsala this morning to deliver the 3rd annual Mother Theresa memorial lecture at Indira Gandhi National Open University in New Delhi, commemorating the Polish nun who dedicated her life to uplifting India's poorest and most marginalized groups, the elderly and orphans. The topic of His Holiness's lecture will be "Motherhood and Compassion".

Dharamsala:Tibetan Scholarship Program Alumni Association launched its official website today (tsapalumni.com). Thupten Lungrig, Minister for the Department of Education inaugurated the new website in the opening ceremony in Dharamsala. The president of the association Dolkar Wangmo, Tenzin Chopal, Secretary of Education and alumni and Tibetan media were in attendance.

Dharamshala: The Central Tibetan Administration's education department is hosting its seventh orientation course from 8-16 Jan, in Sarah, near Dharamshala, in order to reaffirm an education program that is oriented toward Tibetan culture.

Dharamshala: The non-profit organization Samasource yesterday began a data-processing employment program for Tibetans in Dharamsala. YC Dhardhowa, editor of the Tibet Post, talked to Samasource’s Chief Executive Officer, Leila Janah, and Heidi Minx of builtonrespect.com, who is involved in coordinating the project.

Varanasi: Over 40 scholars from the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe and Asia are meeting at the University of Delhi, India, to explore the scale and magnitude of Tibet's history and culture.

Dharamsala, India: The Tibetan Department of Education in exile yesterday opened a ten-day workshop for English language teachers of the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society, with the aim of improving their teaching skills.
